| What is futures trading? Well, when you trade futures, you speculate
as to whether a commodity like cotton, wheat or other types of
commodities will rise or fall. So if you decide to invest in wheat, you
are hoping that those wheat futures will rise. Lots of investors enjoy futures trading because it isn’t all that complicated. In the stock market you have thousands upon thousands of stocks you can invest in, but in futures investing there are only about forty different things you can trade on. |
Investing in futures is also easy and you can make money whether prices go up or down and another reason why futures are so popular is because the commissions you pay on this type of transaction is much lower than the commissions you pay on stocks.
Future trading is affected by nature and weather conditions. So when a commodity is affected by drought, floods, tornadoes and such then the price will go up. On the other hand when there is an over production of a certain future then the price will drop.
Investors enjoy buying futures because of the possibility of making a large profit in a very short period of time. By the same token, an investor could also loose a lot of money when he doesn’t study up on the potential or lack thereof of a certain commodity.
